How to convert between metric and imperial length
One inch is exactly 2.54 centimetres, and one foot is 12 inches (30.48 cm). So to turn centimetres into inches you divide by 2.54, and to find feet you divide the inches by 12 (the whole number is the feet, the remainder is the leftover inches).
